That's what it says in Genesis, chapter 6. After that, God let water wash away all evil, only Noah and his family and animals were allowed to survive. But how do you do the same cleansing today? Well, with zombies of course! Robert Kirkman portrays all this objectively and believably. You can't directly claim that Rick and his ilk are God's best children. They may be good people who occasionally do evil deeds. But in Rick's case, there are quite a few.
